Corporate AV in Fort Lauderdale —
indoors, on the water, or both.

The Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center publishes 350,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space and a Grand Ballroom of 31,872 square feet that divides into eight. Plenty of Broward work never goes into that building at all — it happens on a beach deck, a pool terrace or a lawn, where the wall has to hold up in direct sunlight and the power arrives on a truck. We own the AV for both, our own permanent crew runs it, and our shop is in the same county as the load-in.

01 — Where Broward books

Four kinds of room. Four different load-ins.

Broward is not one venue type, and neither is the work: a conference general session, a trade show booth, a ribbon cutting on a new building, a fashion show on a pool deck and a company party on a lawn are five different load-ins. What changes between them is rarely the gear — it is access, rigging and where the power comes from.

The convention center

Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center · Omni Fort Lauderdale

The center publishes 350,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space, an Atlantic ballroom of 65,136 square feet, a 6.5-acre outdoor plaza and an interconnected 801-room headquarters hotel. Two things follow for a general session. A ballroom taking a few of its eight sections means the air wall beside you is somebody else’s show, so coverage gets aimed rather than turned up. And an exhibit hall floor is a different rigging conversation from a hotel ballroom ceiling — we confirm points and ratings with the building before a drawing goes out, and where they are not there, ground support is designed in rather than discovered.

Beachfront resorts

The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale · W Fort Lauderdale · Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort · Lago Mar Beach Resort & Club · Atlantic Hotel & Spa

A1A properties are tight for trucks and long on push. The ballroom is rarely near the dock, the freight elevator is usually the bottleneck, and the route runs through guest space that cannot be closed off for the afternoon. We scope crew against the real path and the real loading window, which is also why an executive boardroom session and a full beachfront general session get scoped as different jobs instead of the same one scaled up.

Waterfront, decks and lawns

Riverside Hotel on Las Olas · pool decks, marina terraces and riverfront lawns

Going outdoors changes four things at once. The wall has to be the weather-resistant 2.9mm panel built for direct sunlight, not the indoor product. Wind means ballast and ground support rather than flown truss. House power almost never reaches a deck or a lawn, so a generator, distro and a load calculation travel with us. And the run of show needs a rain call with a decision time attached — we will build to whichever plan you call, but it has to be called.

Museums and historic properties

NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale · Museum of Discovery and Science · Bonnet House Museum & Gardens

Plan for no rigging, nothing fixed to the building, and house power that was never designed around a show. These rooms are worth the constraint — they do something a ballroom cannot — but the design has to start from the limits, which means a site survey before anything is promised to a client or a speaker.

02 — What rolls off the truck

Owned inventory, and the same crew every time.

It comes out of our shop, our engineers run it, and the crew that installs it is the crew that operates it through the event. Site survey and pre-production, delivery, install and calibration, an operator on site, then strike and load-out — the parts of the job nobody notices until they are missing.

Audio

Owned inventory · our engineers

Line array where the room is deep and distributed systems where it is wide, digital consoles run by engineers who have mixed on them before, wireless microphones and comms with frequencies coordinated before the day.

2.00

Video & LED

Owned inventory · our engineers

2.9mm LED in both indoor and weather-resistant outdoor panels, walls built to the opening they have to fill rather than to a catalog size, IMAG and multi-camera, switching, playback and stream.

3.00

Lighting

Owned inventory · our designers

Intelligent moving heads, LED wash and uplight, branded gobo texture — plotted and cued in the shop by the designer who runs the console on show day, wherever the program allows, so rehearsal hours go on the show.

Staging, Truss & Rigging

Certified rigging crew

Modular decks and risers, ground support and roof systems, motor rigging by our own certified crew, pipe and drape.

Show Power

Load-calculated · tech on site

Generators, distro and cam-lock, spider boxes, load calculation and redundant show power for anything that cannot drop — which, outdoors, is all of it.

03 — What we need from you

Four answers and a Broward date gets scoped.

Every job is scoped individually — there is no rate card behind this. For a Broward build, these four move a scope more than anything else on the list.

  • The room, and where the truck goes

Name the property and the room, and tell us what you know about the dock, the freight elevator and the loading window. On A1A that is the labor line. On the convention center floor it is the schedule.

  • Indoor, outdoor, or both

Outdoors means outdoor-rated LED, ballast and ground support, generators, and a rain call with a decision time — and in Broward a great deal is outdoors: a ribbon cutting on the building being opened, a runway on a pool deck, a company party on a lawn, a sponsor activation on a marina terrace. Both means two builds run by one crew, and that is a planning problem best solved months out rather than in show week.

  • Headcount, seating, and what they face

Screen width comes off the throw to the furthest seat on an 8:1 rule of thumb, and on a beach deck or a terrace the furthest seat is wherever the property lets you put chairs. What sits at the front matters as much: a keynote on a riser, a panel, an awards walk-up, a runway, and a ribbon cutting where the front of the room is the door of the building are five different control packages.

  • What the venue can actually feed

Ceiling and trim height, rigging points and their ratings, and the house power available at the room. Where the building cannot feed the show, the generator, the distro and the tech who load-calculates it come from us.

04 — Next step

Tell us the property. We know the load-in.

Call and you will get someone who has pushed cases down those corridors. Or send the date, the property and the headcount, and a scope comes back with the outdoor contingency already priced in it — the tent, the flooring and the generator, on the same estimate.
